French Immersion Certificate & IB Diploma/Certificate

French second language students can receive the French Immersion Certificate and the IB Diploma or IB Certificate by successfully completing the courses listed below in Options A or B.

 

Option A

  1. In Grade 10, four immersion or pre-IB courses offered in French, including one French language arts course
  2. The IB French B higher level course
     
  3. One IB standard level course from any group, such as Histoire, Géographie or Biologie, offered in French OR
    For IB Diploma students only:
    1. One other grade 11 or 12 PSP French immersion course offered in the grade11 or grade 12 year
    2. AND
    3. One of the following three options:
      1. The Theory of Knowledge essay, oral presentation and some TOK activities completed in French and the Creativity, Action, Service (CAS) journal, essay and some CAS activities completed in French
      2. The Extended Essay completed in French
      3. Another grade 11 or 12 PSP French immersion course offered in the grade 11or grade12 year

    For IB Certificate students:

    Two other grade 11 or 12 PSP French immersion courses offered in the grade 11 or grade 12 year

 

Option B

  1. In Grade 10, five immersion or pre-IB courses offered in French, including one French language arts course
  2. The IB French B higher level course
  3. One other grade 11 or 12 PSP French immersion course offered in the grade 11 or grade 12 year OR
  4. For IB Diploma students only, one of the following two options:

    1. The Theory of Knowledge (TOK) essay, oral presentation and some TOK activities completed in French and the Creativity, Action, Service(CAS) journal, essay and some CAS activities completed in French
    2. The Extended Essay completed in French

The IB French B Standard Level course will not be recognized as a credit toward the French Immersion Certificate.
